Urmi Cumin Powder is prepared using cumin seeds sourced from Unjha in Gujarat, a region known for producing cumin with strong aroma and flavour. Cumin powder is widely used in Indian cooking to add depth and warmth to curries, dals, vegetables, soups, and spice blends. It also holds an important place in traditional Indian food practices.

The cumin seeds are carefully cleaned and traditionally roasted on a chulha (earthen stove) to enhance their natural aroma and flavour. After roasting, the seeds are iron pounded in small batches. Unlike large-scale commercial grinding methods where heat generated during processing can cause the loss of essential oils, iron pounding helps retain the volatile oils that contribute to cumin’s distinctive flavour and quality. This traditional method ensures that the natural characteristics of the spice remain intact. Once the cumin powder is ready, our dedicated team of women carefully pack and seal each batch with care, maintaining hygiene and quality at every step.
